Welcome
Hi! I’m Margaret, the heart behind The Gratitude Concept. If you’re like me, you know that life can be filled with unpredictable and sometimes overwhelming challenges. Through the years, I’ve come to realize that gratitude has a way of guiding us forward. It may not erase the difficulties, but it can transform how we work through them and open a door to lasting happiness. My hope is to inspire everyone to give it a try – not as a lofty ideal, but as a simple, life-changing practice.
Rooted in Gratitude
Through the years, I’ve grown to appreciate that what truly matters in life can’t be measured by milestones or material things. It’s the ordinary, often overlooked, moments that make life worth living. A shared silence. The laughter of loved ones. The gift of good health. A quiet cup of coffee to start the new day. These are the simple pleasures that bring meaning and joy to every day.
From Challenges To Blessings
For over 15 years my husband, our three daughters, and I struggled with the daily challenges of Chronic Lyme disease. That season of life shaped me in ways that I’m still discovering. It was a long and difficult journey, but it deepened my appreciation for faith, for good health, and for the quiet moments of grace that helped us to keep going.
The intangibles – love, family, friendship, good health – have shown me time and again that life itself is the greatest gift. By living fully in the present and holding a genuine appreciation for the good around us, even the most ordinary days start to feel lighter. Everyday moments become more meaningful, and gratitude becomes a way of seeing the world with fresh eyes.
Creating The Gratitude Stone
During the latter years of our family’s recovery, I started to fully embrace the practice of gratitude. I searched for a simple reminder that I could hold in my hand; something to keep me grounded in the present moment. When I couldn’t find what I was looking for, I designed a Gratitude Stone that would work for me. It’s simple, it’s lightweight, and it carries a powerful message: to “Live each day with a grateful heart”.
To share my gratitude with the people I love, I designed the Gift of Gratitude – a simple gift box, much like a jewelry box, but instead of holding expensive jewelry it carries a gratitude stone to convey a deeper message: you are loved, you are appreciated, and you matter to me. Sharing my gratitude in this way was so impactful and helped me to discover something equally powerful – it doesn’t take a lot of money to show someone how much they matter to you.
A Ripple Effect
As I shared these keepsakes with my family and friends, I saw the joy they sparked and the connections they deepened. I learned that Gratitude has a ripple effect and multiplies when it’s shared. A single act of appreciation can brighten a moment, strengthen a bond, and inspire kindness in return.
My hope is for the Gratitude Concept to serve as a reminder that happiness isn’t found in what we achieve or accumulate, but in how we cherish the simple moments already around us. By carrying gratitude in our heart, sharing it with others, and embracing the everyday joys of life, we can create a more compassionate, connected, and joyful world together.
